Tachibana Coffee in Kanazawa

Kanazawa City in Ishikawa Prefecture is my kind of city, not too big, not too small and packed with old streets.   Kanazawa wasn’t bombed during the second world war, so it has that old Japanese city feel.

After being caught in the rain during a visit to the famous Kenrokuen garden, we found refuge at Tachibana Coffee.

While Kenrokuen garden is a beautiful place, we learned that the weather in Kanazawa changes very quickly.

Tachibana is a tiny coffee shop not too far from Kenrokuen.

The coffee master told us that it’s ok in Kanazawa to forget your lunch at home, but never forget your umbrella.

We ordered two cofffees.  I got the Brazilian which beans were dried on the tree.  Coffee is hand poured using a Kono dripper.

The coffee menu is very detailed and changes daily.   Beans are roasted daily in a small 1 kg Fuji Royal roaster.

Tachibana is a nice little coffee shop and a perfect place to escape the rain.

If you know any other great places to drink coffee in Kanazawa, don’t hesitate to leave a comment.
